This is a 'classical' design of a fairy with plique-à-jour wings and is by no means my own design. Rather, it is a modern replica of a model that was made in about 1912 during the Art Nouveau period of that time. You will get a printable template to make and enamel the wings of this fairy pendant.
THE ENAMELING PROCESS.
The traditional way to do plique-à-jour is complex and time consuming requiring many oven firings. This process is made easier by adaptation and the torch fired techniques.
This instruction gives you a solid foundation and understanding of the enameling process, which is essential. before expanding into the more complex forms of enameling by way of experimentation and practice. That way you will master the skill of enameling.
The enamels used in this project were from Thompson Enamels..
