This tip makes sawing jump rings much easier. Also I always make extra jump rings which I then keep in my jump ring box with a big selection of different wire thickness and diameter jump rings. Having stock of jump rings is a big time saver.
Wind the mostly annealled (depending on your requirement) wire around the desired mandrel diameter in neat tight windings.
A hand-held drill can be used to wind the wire on the mandrel.
Normally the saw blade teeth face backwards in the piercing saw, but now we reverse the saw blade and set the teeth facing forwards.
Hold the wire spiral against the peg and now cut with the saw forwards towards the peg.
The cut jump rings will jam against the bench peg until they cut through.
The cut jump rings will automatically fall on the saw blade. Loosen one end of the saw blade from the saw to release the jump rings.
